How to Make Hyderabadi Paneer Curry

This masaledaar-rich curry is as delicious as any other Hyderabadi dish! Paneer is prepared in a rich curry of milk, onions curry leaves, lemon juice and chillies. This dish can be served with steamed rice and Malabar Parotta.

Ingredients of Hyderabadi Paneer curry

  • 250 gms Cubed Paneer
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 5 Curry Leaves
  • 1/2 tsp Powdered Turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 2 Cloves
  • 1 tsp Minced Ginger
  • 1/4 tsp Sesame Seeds
  • 2 tbsp Oil Refined
  • 1 medium Sliced onion
  • 1 tsp Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tbsp Ghee
  • Salt as needed
  • 1 tsp Black pepper spice
  • 5 Cloves Garlic
  • 2 Dry Red Chillies


Make this delicious dish by heating ghee in a pan and roasting the cumin, clove, black peppers, sesame seeds, and red chillies. Add them to a blender and process them.


Next, heat oil in pan and saute paneer cubes.


Heat oil in a separate skillet and add the curry leaves, onion, and curry leaves. Let them cook for a few minutes, until the onions turn golden brown. Add the minced ginger and garlic to the ground masalas.


Add milk to the pan, and cook for a couple of minutes.


Finally, add the fried Paneer pieces and lemon zest. Allow to simmer for approximately 10 minutes.


Once the dish is cooked, transfer it to a bowl and serve hot.
