How to Make Aloe vera Ki Subzi
Aloe vera is most commonly used in the form a juice. We tried Aloe Vera ki subzi for a change. It was super delicious and very nutritious. To make this aloe Vera ki Subzi, use the sweet variety of aloe. Please see the following recipe.
Ingredients of Aloe Vera Ki Subzi
- 500 gms Aloe Vera
- 50 ml Mustard Oil
- Cumin Seeds 5 Grams
- 5 Gram Mustard seeds
- 100 gram Raisins
- Garlic 20g
- 8 gram Red Chilli Powder
- 3-4 Whole Red Chillies
- 3 gram Turmeric
- 10 gram Coriander Powder
- Salt to Taste
- 5 gram Raw Mango Powder
- 2 gram Mustard Seeds Pulverized
- 10 gram Jaggery
- A pinch of Asafoetida
First, wash the leaves. Next, remove the thorns. Once you are done, cut lengthwise and create thin strips that look almost like ribbons. It will absorb more flavors.
Now, pressure cook the leaves until they are tender.
Mix dry ingredients such as dhania powder and turmeric powder with a little water. Once it is mixed, add it to hot mustard oil and cook until it turns golden brown. Continue stirring.
Add oil, cumin seeds and broken red chillies to a separate pan. Let them crackle. Toss the Aloe Vera strips in boiling water and toss well. Now, add this mixture to the roasted masala.
Mix together raisins, chopped green chilies, coriander leaves, and toss it all together.
Mix again with a little bit more mustard seeds (rai). Allow the subzi to rest for at least 2 hours before you serve it.
It tastes even better the next morning!
